This week at the British Fashion Awards
, photographer Nick Knight
paid tribute to the late, Alexander Lee McQueen. The presentation was entitled “To Lee, With Love, Nick” and the clip is set to a soundtrack by Björk and features McQueen's most iconic pieces, styled by Edward Enninful and worn by black models only.
In response to the video Nick Knight said "We felt it was important to have the clothes featured one last time on flesh and blood before the museum takes them away," said Knight, referring to the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is mounting a retrospective exhibition of Alexander McQueen's work this spring.
This film is my way of speaking about a very unique and important person who changed my life. My desire was to speak in some way about the dark and the light contained within Lee, and within us all.'
